Nestled in the unspoilt mountains of the Sierra Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park, Acebuchal is a tiny hamlet with a powerful story to tell. Founded in the 17th century as part of the old muleteer route between Granada and Malaga, Acebuchal once bustled with life. After the Spanish Civil War, the village was tragically abandoned as villagers were caught between the Franco regime and the guerrillas. For decades, it lay silent, known as 'The Lost Village' -its whitewashed houses crumbling back into the hills. On this guided walk, you'll discover how, in 1998, the descendants of the original villagers returned and lovingly rebuilt their home, breathing life back into the streets. Hear stories of resilience and renewal as you explore the restored lanes and enjoy sweeping mountain views. To complete your experience, we will relax over a leisurely lunch in the village tavern, famous for its hearty, huntsman-style food. With small groups upto seven guests, you'll have plenty of time to soak up the unique atmosphere, ask questions and truly connect with this remarkable corner of Andalusia.
